lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of
the Royal Palace, Water Tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses. On one of the stairways the only
known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of 21 life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their
original colour. The Water Gardens, Fountain Garden, summerhouse, Boulder Gardens and the Caves with the enclosed are should not be missed.
Enroute back to Kandy you’ll visit Batik Factory (03hrs) This batik factory and showroom is a great place to see the batik-making process,
from the drawing of the designs and multistage dyeing of cloth to the boiling away of the wax. The tasteful and excellent quality batiks are then
made into dresses, sarongs, scarves and tablecloths.
Later in the evening watch a Cultural Dance Show.
A Kandyan cultural show will leave you amazed by their dance, acrobatics, costumes and music. Held in Kandy town, this cultural show depicts

Horton Plains National Park is a huge area of beautiful countryside in Sri Lanka’s hill country. The 9km looped track takes you to a stunning viewpoint
named World’s End. You can see where it got its name when you reach the 4000-foot-high precipice. World’s End is about halfway along the route.
The unprotected cliff edge falls a sharp 4000 feet down and the view stretches for miles. The view is spectacular but it can only be seen in the morning,
after which it’ll be covered by clouds.
How Long Does It Take to Climb World’s End? The World’s End trek is generally considered to be a moderately strenuous one,
It should take around 3 hours to complete, but obviously this depends greatly on your walking speed (and how many photos you stop to take!)
