Itinerary

DAY 01 – Colombo Airport – Negombo. Jetwing Beach Negombo
On arrival at the airport, you will be met by our representative and directly transferred to Negombo. Approximately 35-40 minute drive, after check-in at hotel, enjoy a dinner and evening at leisure.

DAY 02 – Negombo – Dambulla – Minneriya. Amaya Lake Dambulla
After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Dambulla, approx 4 hour drive to visit the Dambulla cave temple. Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. The latter include Vishnu and the Ganesha. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square meters (23,000 sq ft). Depictions on the walls of the caves include the temptation by the demon Mara, and Buddha's first sermon.
Evening check in at hotel after which you’ll enjoy an evening safari at Minneriya National Park. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

DAY 03 – Dambulla -Sigiriya. Amaya Lake Dambulla
After breakfast enjoy climbing the Sigiriya Rock. Approx. 40 mins drive to Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
Sigiriya Rock Fortress – is a “World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace, Water Tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of 21 life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original colour. The Water Gardens, Fountain Garden, summerhouse, Boulder Gardens and the Caves with the enclosed are should not be missed.

DAY 04 – Dambulla – Kandy. Amaya Hills Kandy
After breakfast you’ll embark on your journey to Kandy, approx. 2.5 hour drive. Here you’ll visit the Kandy Temple of tooth relic, which houses the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, is an important landmark in Kandy. The Tooth is kept in a two-storey shrine fronted by two large elephant tusks and rests on a gold lotus flower, encased in jewelled casket that sits on a throne. The temple is decorated with beautiful local paintings and architectural features.
Check-in to hotel and then transfer to watch a cultural dance of Kandy. Watch a Kandyan cultural show and be awed by the spectacular dance, acrobatics, costumes and music. Held in Kandy town, this cultural show depicts various forms of Kandyan dancing which was once native to the area but has now spread to different regions of the island.

DAY 05 – Kandy – Galle - Beruwala. Cinnamon Bey Beruwala
After breakfast leave for Galle, approx 4.5 hrs drive.
The Galle Fort, or Dutch Fort as it is also known, is a fortification first built by the Portuguese on the Southwestern coast of Sri Lanka. The initial fortifications, which were built in the late 16th century, were quite basic. However, the fort underwent extensive modifications in the 17th century by the Dutch, making it one of the most important archaeological, architectural and historic monuments to illustrate the European influence in South East Asia between the 16th and 19th centuries. According to a statement by UNESCO the site was recognized as a World Heritage Site for its unique exposition of an urban ensemble which illustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditions from the 16th to the 19th centuries which is the criterion number four for such recognition.

DAY 06/ 07 - Beruwala. Cinnamon Bay Beruwala
Full day at Leisure at the hotel or we can arrange further exciting day trips for you including balloon rides or a picnic.

DAY 08 – Beruwala – Colombo Airport or continue your tour / holiday in Sri Lanka.
After Breakfast at the hotel, check out and according to your flight departure, you’ll have an approx. 2 hour drive back to the airport.
