Overview
Amritsar, Chandigarh & the Shivalik Hills
Experience a remarkable journey through northern India where spiritual heritage, visionary architecture and Himalayan landscapes come together. This carefully designed itinerary combines the powerful cultural atmosphere of Amritsar, the modernist architectural masterpiece of Chandigarh, and the tranquil beauty of the Himalayan foothills.
Your journey begins in Amritsar, the spiritual heart of Sikhism and home to the magnificent Golden Temple, one of the most sacred and welcoming religious sites in the world. The temple’s shimmering golden domes and sacred pool create an unforgettable setting, while the city itself offers a fascinating glimpse into the culture and history of Punjab.
From the plains of Punjab, the journey continues to Chandigarh, India’s first planned modern city. Designed by the legendary Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier, Chandigarh represents a bold vision of modern urban design created after India’s independence. The city’s remarkable Capitol Complex, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is considered one of the most important works of modernist architecture, with monumental buildings and symbolic structures that reflect the ideals of a new nation.
Surrounded by the foothills of the Himalayas and the serene landscapes of the Shivalik range, this region offers a unique contrast between architectural innovation and natural beauty. Combined with luxury hotels, private guides and seamless travel arrangements, this journey offers a sophisticated introduction to one of India’s most intriguing regions.
