Amber Fort, Jaipur

Uphill and downhill by jeep at Amber Fort, then the heritage stepwell of Panna-Meena ka Kund on the descent.

The Stepwell of Abhaneri

Chand Baori (stepwell), one of India’s deepest, with 1000 narrow steps spanning thirteen storeys.

Days 1 : Arrive in Delhi

Arrive in Delhi

A warm reception with fresh floral garlands at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Welcome to Delhi, the City of Djinns. In the afternoon, visit Raj Ghat and ride a Rickshaw through the lanes of the Old Delhi market, past the majestic Red Fort to Jama Masjid.

Day 2

The Monuments of New Delhi

Begin at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and its community kitchen, drive past India Gate, then stop at Laxmi Narayan Temple, also known as Birla Temple. Continue to Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb and a photography stop at Lotus Temple.

Day 3

Mughal Agra

Drive to Agra, 210 kilometres and four to five hours. In the afternoon, visit Agra Fort, built by Akbar in 1565, and Itmad-ud-daula, white marble inlaid with semi-precious stones. Also visit a Marble Workshop where artisans practise marble inlay work.

Days 4

The Taj Mahal and On to Jaipur

A sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, then breakfast and the drive to Jaipur. En route, stop at Abhaneri for Chand Baori (stepwell) and Harshat Mata Temple. Jaipur, the Pink City, is the first planned city of India.

Days 5

Discover the Pink City

Start at Amber Fort, uphill and downhill by jeep, then the stepwell of Panna-Meena ka Kund. Stop at Jal Mahal and the Jewel & Carpet Workshops, visit City Palace and Jantar Mantar, then free time in Jaipur’s world-famous local markets.

Days 6

Into Camel Country

Drive to Bikaner, a vibrant desert town with a fabulous fort. On arrival, visit the Karni Mata Temple at Deshnok and the National Research Centre on Camel, the only camel research and breeding centre of its kind in Asia.

Days 7-9

Junagarh, Mandawa and Departure

Visit Junagarh Fort, then drive to Mandawa for a walking tour of the beautifully painted havelis of Mandawa, including Jhunjhunwala Haveli, Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli and the Gulab Goenka Double Haveli. Return to Delhi for your departure flight.
